The city offers a wide range events all year round, with many of which exclusive to Umeå.
Brännbollsyran, Umeå Open, Toughest, Color Me Rad, Blodomloppet, just to name a few.

Brännbollsyran
The most iconic annual event in Umeå.
Brännbollsyran is THE THING we are most excited about. At the end of every May, numerous Brännboll(a variation of baseball) games are carried out simultaneously on the lawns at Mariehemsängarna, while the grass on campus is turned into the concert venue. World famous DJs Martin Garrix and Afrojack showed up respectively for the concert in 2014 and 2015. During this time, Umeå does not sleep at night.

Umeå Open
Welcome to the most popular indoor music festival in Sweden. Umeå Open has been around since 1998. It takes place around the end of march and spans 3-4 days. A fact that makes the festival really exciting is that more than one concert are often going on at the same time, and the venues are spread around the city center resembling a playground. Umeå Open features many Swedish artisits, making it a great place to familiarize with the bands known by the locals.
This yearly event attended by thousands also offers volunteering opportunities. It will give you a chance to step up as a staff at some concerts and enjoy as an audience at the rest.
